| Answer: | Option 1 The Echo Indigo i/o - is a CardBus recording and playback device that has been lauded as one of the best sounding laptop cards available today. It is a PCMCIA solution that fits in to most laptops. The one set back is that you will have to adapt professional mics to the Indigo i/o's mini phone plug via the adapter cables provided. You can use the free software from Echo called Tracktion or you can use any of our Sony Media Products like Sound Forge, Acid or Vegas to capture the audio, mix it and edit it at a later point. Option 2 The AudioFire 2 – the only extras needed to adapt professional mics are an XLR to ¼" TRS cable adapter (available from ProCo). This audio interface can connect to any Firewire port available on your computer. Same software options apply here. Option 3 Echo AudioFire 4 with 2 standard XLR inputs for professional mics allows the connectivity to your computer via the Firewire interface on your computer. Same software options apply here as well. Notes: •Add microphones like the Joe Meek JM 37 for studio condenser quality recordings or an Alesis AM1 dynamic mic for little cost. •Don't forget ProCo cables! |
